Sunday musings…

Sundays are a lazier day at our house. It IS laundry day, but that’s an easy chore. I love to read, as I’ve said before, and I do a lot of reading on Sunday. This week I am reading an Advance Reader Copy for an author that I like very much. Nikki Landis is an author that I discovered last summer, and I have read many of her books. I’m really liking the one I’m reading, and I’m not surprised. Most of what I’ve read from her are Paranormal Romance, but there is always an element of mystery and/or danger in them as well, which appeals to my mystery loving soul. When the book is released, I will share more of it with you!

Because I read so much, it’s sometimes scary to move into the writings of a new author, as I never know if I’m going to love them so much that I have to go back and read all of their written/audio (for me reading and listening mean the same thing), and that’s gonna cost a lot for some writers!

A few years ago, I found an author named Pepper Winters. My first book of hers was “Tears of Tess” from her Monsters in the Dark Series. It’s a dark romance, and it was my first dark romance read, BUT it wasn’t my last! I have read every book Pepper Winters has written to this point, and will continue to do so. She is able to make me fall in love with the characters each and every time. Her most recent “The Son and His Hope” is a stand alone, but follows the life of the son born to Ren and Della from “The Boy and His Ribbon” and “The Girl and Her Ren”. The characters are so real and their stories so believable because she does such an amazing job of detailing everything.

The Dollar Series by Pepper Winters is another one of my favorite series of hers, but I truly enjoy all I’ve read of hers. she is an automatic buy for me. If a new release has her name on it, I buy it. I could go on, but I won’t. She is a wonderful author and if you haven’t read one of her books, go do it! I promise you, she’s worth the read.

So… I’ve mused and told you about one of my favorite authors. So, a little more about me is that I work in the Information Systems department of a small hospital, my main area of focus is the Revenue Cycle. I love to work with claims and billing and “fighting” with insurance companies. In my home life, I married a wonderful man nearly 20 years ago now, and He is my best friend, my confidant, my biggest fan and supporter. He is everything to me. When I began reviewing print books and audio-books, He encouraged me to begin a blog. I started with a Facebook page, and when that was set up, He encouraged me to start this site. He set it up for me, as that is His forte, not mine. When we married, I was a divorcee with two daughters who were 8 and 5. He loves them loves them like they are His own and supports them in all their ventures and adventures. They are now 29 and 26, and they love Him too.

My older daughter is getting married this year, so we are in wedding mode. She is a planner and has it all planned out and knows exactly what she wants. She is marrying someone we are very fond of. He compliments her very well and fits with us perfectly. We are looking forward to this for her, and want the entire day to be special for them.

I’m going to go finish my laundry, and my book now… Happy Sunday everyone!!
